LoL. 80's technique to reduce under bonnet temps in the old race cars. Cheack out pics of the old Camaro's or Monaro's in bathurst race trim.

drifters love it too, crank the back of the bonnet up so the hot air escapes... if that was true and it helped underbonnet temps i'm sure the manufacturers would do it from the factory

Most car manufacturers dont design their systems with constant sideways use in mind.

Some of the drift guys need to do it too, with some conversions meaning clearance issues require it.

Can I just also say, that black pig nose is fucking hot.

i fail to see how that increases cooling when sideways, but thats a different topic for another thread

I think he means the sustained high rpm rather than the aerodynamics?

Less regular, high speed frontal airflow...Better cooling needed (as you said, high load, lowish speeds) Create bigger outlet from engine bay to aid flow-thru.
