So yeah.... basically if you want to encounter a scary psychopathic fucking poltegeist, then 3am is the time to go!
Another take:

the witching hour is the time when supernatural creatures such as witches, demons and ghosts are thought to be at their most powerful, and black magic at its most effective. This hour is typically midnight, and the term may now be used to refer to midnight, or any late hour, even without having the associated superstitious beliefs.

In neopaganism, it is sometimes used to refer solely to midnights occurring during a full moon, when a witch's power is supposedly at its greatest.

In Gypsy beliefs the "Witching Hour" is actually at 1 o'clock as opposed to midnight because it is the "Thirteenth Hour".

Yeh but having been to the gaol a fair few times (convict heritage and all ), the crazy house is in a different league..

I can imagine and believe all the weird stuff though. We did it in a small group (6 or 8 from memory) and got some special tour as my ex gf's work dealt with the tour leader.... Part of me wants to go again and part of me doesnt. Everytime im in freo, i always seem to pass it!

On a similiar note, has anyone done the freo tunnel tour?
