Default new camera advice

hey all.

im after a new camera.

i think ive narrowed it down to 2.

i will be using it underwater aswell so a housing is a must.

im thinking the Cannon G9
has 12.1mp, 6x Optical zoom.
cons were it was a tad big and heavy

the other one is the Panasonic TZ3
7.1mp, 10x Optical zoom.

both come with housings. the G9 is more expensive. about 200.

any comments / suggestions?

the main thing i was the camera for is a quick point and shoot, but have some good features for underwater etc.

Mate I would reccomend the Canon better overall camera, Better sensor, But the size and weight would be a personal issue also the underwater housing I dont have any experience with them, but I would chose the Canon over the panasonic without a doubt.

My mate has a Panasonic camera, its pretty good.

Both canon and the panasonic seem to be good, my persoanl preference would be canon though.

Yeah they do. www.canon.com.au - Depending on how serious you are with your water. If you would use it few times a week might be worth looking at a Dave Kelly Custom Water Housing.
