RAW to JPG problem
Ive been playing around today with RAW photos, for the moment, I have my camera to save both, a RAW image, and a JPG image. (not ideal as it uses a fair amount of space on memory card)
Now, when I convert my RAW image to JPG, it ends up with significantly more noise in the photo, more so than the JPG taken with the camera. I am using the "Digital Photo Professional" software that came with my camera to convert. I am just coverting it straight off. I should point out that the RAW image, when opened, looks better than the JPG saved by the camera. My camera is a Canon 400D. Is there anything that you's know of that might cause this, or, have any hints of things I should do for converting RAW to JPG RAW converted to JPG JPG Saved by the camera Last edited by gumby2006; 02-02-2008 at 07:57 PM. |

That was a quick edit, simple open as raw edit size to web size,
adjust levels a little bit and saturation bit of sharpening and thats it. With the stright convert it was as clean as the raw was. A little bit of noise has shown with adjustment of the levels bringing the darkness up a bit But you also shot that in 800iso as well which wouldnt help. but check when you saving the jpg as you might have the quality or file size settings down low. |
