Default Our USA Roadtrip in a Corvette - photos

Brett (EVL WRX) and I returned last weekend from a 5 week roadtrip that took us all the way across the USA in a 2008 Corvette.

We flew into NY for 4 days then down to Miami where we rented the car for the following 30 days. Brand new car with a 6.2L V8, 430hp, paddle shift 'box - great fun!

From there we travelled through Key West, Orlando, New Orleans, Houston, San Antonio, Dallas, Oklahoma, Santa Fe, Denver and Aspen, Flagstaff, Las Vegas, San Diego, San Francisco before finishing up in LA.

We did a total of 10,500km in the Vette, stayed in 17 different hotels and we absolutely buggered by the end of it. But worth every cent and minute, best 5 weeks of my life. Experienced so many different cultures, climates, food and people in such a short time.

Over 3000 photos so impossible to post about everything we did but heres a little taste. I will be doing seperate updates on my website for all the cars we saw over there - Veyron, Enzo, SLR etc.

New York

South Beach, party capital!!

Key West

NBA game in Houston, big Shaq in the middle - Jay Z and Beyonce in the crowd.

Oklahoma

The beast

We did a day of driving old Route 66

Then into the snow of Colorado

Snowboarding in Aspen, magical place.

Death Valley, Valley of the Gods

Grand Canyon

Biggest light display in the world in Vegas, 400m long sign

Bellagio

Golden Gate Bridge in San Fran

The in-car GPS failed on us but was repaired within a day, no mechanical problems at all.

Great, so much effortless grunt - would be a killer roll-on race weapon! Sitting at 100mph (160kph) in 6th equates to a lazy 2000rpm.
