Default Bigpond 400 - Friday Practice

Headed out to Barbs yesterday to catch some of the V8's and do a garage tour with Uni. Had a chat to the Team BOC head engineer and also Brad Jones and Cam McConville while we were there. Shown the ins and outs of the cars and the telemetry back at the truck. Was very interesting.

Anyways, had the rest of the day to watch the race, so took the 400D out there and took some snaps while i was at it.

Still just learning the camera, so the shots arent very creative. Only took them from the first and last turns, so they're all pretty similar.

Lens: Canon 70-300
Shutter Speed: Varied between 1/200 and 1/400
f: Varied between f4-8
ISO: 100

If anyone else heads out there over the weekend, feel free to post up your pics in this thread too.

Enjoy, and feel free to give me some advice if you can.

Cheers!

Fail!

Your shots look good. I often find spot metering good in for motorsport as well using a a single point focus. Also slowing your shutter down to 1/80sec - 1/120sec or so for the pans will give you nice creamy motion blur while still keeping the car sharp. Takes a bit of practice that one.

Overall, a few blown highlights but good sharp photos.
