Going to the gold coast tomorrow night for 4 days staying right on gold coast hwy. Cant wait to get the camera crankin.

leaving the 70-200 home just im hoping wont need it size and weight of it kinda hard pushing to take it.

so just taking 24-70 and 12-24, cant wait to get some landscapes with the 12-24

any ideas or sugestion of places to see while there

Have you done the theme parks etc..?

Fraser's Island is pretty cool, and so is Byron bay. In the gold coast itself i would go up the Q1 building. Havent been up myself, it was still being built last time i was there. But would be some awesome scenic shots.

Another one would be to take a helicopter tour. Heaps of them around, i did the one out of sea world. Again some great coast line shots.

Also make sure you get a few of the meter maids they'll always pose for a photo or two.!

Meter maids wander around down near the beach. Usually in caville mall.

im staying right on goldcoast hwy.

I was there for my honeymoon last may. I stayed at palazzo colonades (spelling?) on gold coast hwy. Was excellent location. Walking distance to heaps of good stuff. Went up the Q1 and the view is crazy. The surf club is good for a meal and cheap drinks. Draculas is a good show for a night out. I did the theme parks etc but couldnt really enjoy them as wife was pregnant so couldnt do much.

I am in Brisbane right now. Staying in Southbank. It's an awesome place. I could definitely call this side of Australia my home.

It is an awesome location. I was a little disappointed when i got there but that was coz i was pissed that our driver got lost and took 3 hours to get us there from brisbane airport. In case you get a shitty driver like mine, the part of gold coast hwy it is on is actually surfers paradise blvd.

what was the hotel , apartments ? they generally pretty secure too for leaving stuff in the room when not there ?
