Shit, 45 years on & virtually no change since they first came out in 1964.
The original cars also used No's 6, 9, 11, 24, 40 and a few more but 6 seems to be the most famous.

Thanks for the comments. I'll post up some more as I find good ones (shot about 10Gb and that was on JPEG). Its a bit surreal being there when you're from little old Perth. Seeing 430 Scuderia's, 599's, an F50, various Porsches, TVR's, Nobles (the list goes on) just in the camp grounds is incredible. The only cars we didnt manage to see were a Veyron and an Enzo. Pretty sure we saw every other supercar.

The Gran Turismo Citroen did the supercar parade. It had what sounded like an american V8 so I suspect its built on an Ultima chassis or something similar. Someone on here may know.

And the racing was awesome. Being up at 4am and watching an LMP1 Peugeot crash and roll along a tyre wall felt a bit bizarre. Woke us up a bit!

Agreed on the walk through the car park. When we were there there was some ferrari thing on and they had a read example of nearly every ferrari model i could think of.

When we were there it was so freaking cold it was unbelievable. Same for you?

Thing that got me was the no doubt the LMP1 cars were faster than the GT1 cars down the straights but not by a huge amount. But when it came to cornering the amount of ground they made up was epic.

We were in the grand stand to the left of this shot that sits on its own (Maison Blanche I think its called). The shot was from the ferris wheel on the Sunday arvo. Everytime we went back to sit at the grand stand on Sunday we would start to fall asleep so we kept ourselves busy walking to the Porsche curves, riding the ferris wheel etc.

We got lucky with the weather, it was low to mid 20's for the whole weekend. Carried a jacket around for the Sat/Sun but never really needed it, even at 3am.

First time you see the LMP1 cars go past you can quickly see what downforce does for a racecar. They just leave the GT1 and GT2 cars for dead in the quicker corners.

When you went did you organise everything yourself? We went with Select Motor Racing (www.selectmotorracing.com) on a 4 day tour which made things very easy for us. Highly recommend them.

Yeah. I organised everything myself. The ACO office in town were very helpful especially given I could not speak a word of french. We stayed at a B&B in town. We organised it all very last minute.

In hindsight it would of been good to go with a tour as such because we never knew about things like the race radio etc. Next time I reckon that I would hire a campervan in the UK and drive down and make a week of it. Probably try and hook up with something like the tour that EVO magazine runs.
