ive seen these in my backyard me German Shepard chases em and sticks his nose on em lol.

find these occasionally at my place and my parents (hocking and dianella respectively).
they look awesome in a scary way. I have seen one take on a roach and win, walking along the paving with a roach in its mouth, priceless.

they make a cricket chirping sound, we initially thought they were frogs making the sound.

usually find them under little mounds of dirt under the down pipes etc.

looks like they may be omvinorous too as they have a habbit of cutting my mums flowers off at just below soil level.

would love to see a praying mantis v sandgroper/mole cricket showdown.
