I have the Tokina 12-24 f4 DX (not the DXII - not sure what the difference is, mine is a few years old) in a Nikon mount and love it, have been very pleased with it. well built, nice and sharp. prone to flare a bit but you can just shade with your hand. At the timem without spending heaps, it was either this or the sigma 10-20, which seemed to have variable quality (ie some examples were reported as being very soft), or the nikon 12-24 at double the price.

I use a sigma 10-20, nothing OVERLY spectacular, just a nice easy to use lens, that produces exactly what you're looking at. Perfect for a cropped frame sensor too
