Also, rumors of a new model 24-70 coming out soon, so if aren't in a rush I'd wait a little bit longer just in case you can snap up a bargain.

i'm thinking of selling my 70-200 f2.8 IS...great lens but dont use it enough...still unsure but when i do decide to let it go I'll let you know kym

24-70 + 70-200 great combo

ninja edit: 1.4x ext will cost you 1 stop, 2x extender 2 stops

You only lose 1 stop with a 1.4x extender, I sometimes use one on my 70-200mm and 300mm. No issues really.

Wide lenses are where it's at.. the 14mm f/2.8 L II is beyond awesome

The quality of the extender has a lot to do with the stop loss. Chinese spec = higher stop losses.

I recently bought a 24-70L 2.8 and love it, but i'm using a crap 40D with a vertical grip.
Next on my list is a 70-200L 2.8 and a mk2.
Pete gopal, how much are you looking at selling your lens for if you do?

Not a bad start, but I want that full frame, just don't have the cash needed for a 5D.
