Basically multiplies the focal length of your lens by 1.4x.

You can get one here for $1300 inc postage brand new (it's where I got mine from)...I've been looking around gumtree for a while and the 2nd hand prices are way too high.

Judging by your website the 24-70 would definitely be perfect for the type of photography you do Kym...doooo iiitttt! :D

Wouldn't mind a 85mm f/1.2L II.
I've got the 24-70, its a good lens but very heavy, you really need the battery grip to balance the weight out.

98kellrs 29-08-2011 12:23 PM

Yeah I know what you mean sleepy! I've only got the puny little 600D so had to get the battery grip to avoid dropping it all the time! Feels much better now.

It is however much lighter than the 120-400mm

Main two lens you should have are

24-70 F2.8 L
70 -200 f2.9 IS L

Don't compromise and go F4 you will regret it.

As for those extenders they are handy, though you do loose couple stops by using them.

edit: kym those prices are not to bad. and both the 24-70 and 70-200 are the good ones.
Id go the mk2 over the 5d .

where are all these ?

GTB Liberty 29-08-2011 01:00 PM

Yea, be careful with extenders. You'll certainly lose a stop or two and, often, with it you'll lose some lower light auto focus capabilities.
