Anyone considering one of these should also look at the Sony Action Cam. I picked one up before my track day on the bike last month. Cheaper than the GoPro and Contour equivalent and as good, if not better video quality. Wifi to your phone, live view, start/stop and basic settings from your phone

Action cam is the same sort of specs as the GoPro Silver so far as video capability. If comparing price. Something to consider.

Orly? I guess the Sony doesn't do 60fps, but in the side by sides, the Sony seems to have the edge on low light performance, detail and anti-shake. IMO everything looks better, but then I guess I am biased as that's the one I decided to go with. Significantly cheaper too

I don't know what he's done with that video, but the Hero3 filming in 1080 looks a shitload better than that :/

Looking through several side by side comparisons, the Sony does look quite good though.
Call for a P-WRX side by side test to settle this one....

Cheers for making this one more complicated. Was in the market for one very soon.

Unfortunately not a great comparison when you dig into the details. He's using 60fps on the GoPro but only 30fps on the Sony. He doesn't seem to be using the 'Protune' mode available on the GoPro either.
