Are you only looking at new? Used 5d mkII's should be going fairly cheap since the release of the mkIII. Full frame would be well worth it imo.

Moving to full frame will only be beneficial if you have L glass. Stick Canon's "consumer grade" lenses on a full frame body and you will actually take a step back. The cheaper lenses just don't have the quality to resolve the detail that a full frame captures.

No L series glass so it seems the 7D is the go.

Also I believe you can't use ef-s lenses on a full frame camera, they go to deep into the body.

Sigma do nice lenses that fit both crop and full frame. The 7D is an awesome camera for the hobbyist. Excellent framerate for motorsports, wildlife, kids etc.

You certainly won't be disappointed.

7D is big upgrade from 350D (processing power, quality). I dont care what people say but a better camera = better photos.

Do yourself a favour and get some L series glass, 2nd hand is just as good as new.

Thanks all. I ended up getting a used 5D MkII. It arrives on Monday.

Now looking at getting a 24-70mm F/2.0L USMII Lens.

Good choice! They are really well priced now with the 5d3 and the 6D out and produce superb images, I'm jelly!

Can 100% reccommend that 24/70 f2.8L, I've got one at it hardly ever leaves my body. 2.8 is so fricking handy in low light and it's tack sharp at mid apertures.

It has arrived and it is AWESOME!

First pic on full auto. Slightly over exposed but wow what a difference over the 350D
