needed to be in "Night Mode" which has the appropriate appeture & shutter speed settings so the photo would have been lighter.
I left it on normal mode unfortunately.

were you using a tripod? If not then having the shutter open for longer would've just resulted in blurry pics.

this was taken in "night mode" with no tripod....



Ok I admit I've never had any training in photography, just trial and error really....took me awhile before i could take decent shots like the one above.

So how long was this TAFE course?

You're not using a digi SLR hey? I wouldn't mind seeing how well my IXUS 65 goes with night shots. My mate showed me it can do up to 18sec exposures (Shows how well I know the camera lol) *kiss goodbye to the digital slr*

you asking me or gumby?

I'm using a Canon 350D (my night mode comment was sarcastic), and I'm sure gumby would have an SLR too considering he studied photography and all.
