After seeing some of these pics, it inspired me to mess with the manual settings on the camera. I know sod all about exposure etc so just played around. I tried to get a shot like this, but was nowhere near as good:

What shutter speed would this require? I don't understand what it all means but I took some photos with the shutter speed at 8 (slowest speed) and the ISO was 400. What the hell is ISO btw???

longer shutter speed makes the picture brighter, higher ISO makes the picture brighter.

How did you get it so black and white? I only desaturated, is there a filter to use instead?

methd 22-02-2007 09:12 PM

just play with levels and then curves, set black/grey points, and more curves! then colour for the car. then resize and a slight USM.

methd 22-02-2007 09:13 PM

also when youre doing a long exposure with a tripod, just leave the ISO as low as u can. u only need to jack up ISO when there's moving objects and the lens can't keep up.
