This is what I used as the light source.
If its not too much trouble perhaps I could join you on your next photo session to learn a few things. Would really appreciate watching it first hand!

Like I said, long way for me to go, but thanks for the constructive feedback!

Yeah no worries, I'm still learning too so we might both learn something! I'll be doing some practice on my car over the weekend most likely. PM me your number and I'll text you when I'm heading out. Will likely be somewhere around the Cockburn area.

Do you head out by yourself or with mates? I am too fucking paranoid that some opportunistic scum takes my car or gear. Headlights won't go on without the key in ignition.

I might play around with my lighting kit and/or light painting in the driveway at night first, then when I have a good grasp of what I need to do and the time necessary, head out to a location.

I shoot alone usually when testing ideas, working FIFO I can be out late on weird nights so I rarely ever come across anyone. I find when I'm on my own I rush less and think more about the technique I'm trying to learn.

Having mates there is always better though, cuts down on setup times and positioning car and also adds variety of subject matter etc. Hence why I'm always offering to shoot P-WRX member's cars as further practise

I went out last night and got these while up at work. Lovely clear night and no light pollution. The star trail needs a bit of work with my interval settings, but I'm pretty happy with how they came out for a first attempt B)

Lovely as always Jan! How did you go mounting on the Fezza's roof, would have thought it would be pretty flimsy? Or did you use the front/rear windscreens?

Also, are you using a riser on the front cup, or have you got a tensioning wire to counter the 'droop' in the boom? At the moment I'm limited to low level rig shots due to a fair amount of sag.

Thanks Ryan. I used the roof on the Ferrari, no issues - the perspex/acrylic engine cover was the only thing I couldn't use. Yeah, using a riser on the front cup for some of the shots - no tensioning wire.
