Very easy DIY.. The V1 comes with clip connectors that bite through your wiring insulation to make the connection.

In my work van, my map lights are powered via ignition ie they don't turn on when you press them, unless the ignition is on.

I simply wired the v1 to the map lights and dropped the power cable through the front of the headliner.. The v1 sits 5cm below it at the top of the windscreen.

Took me about 10 mins in total.

No idea where the best spot is in a Subaru to do the wiring, but it's as easy as just locating it, clipping the connectors on and running the power cable.

I found acc power behind the mirror controller. Cable run up A pillar and pops out near rear view mirror.

The easiest method is to find the Fuse Panel inside the car. Located near the steering wheel or the passengers side. Use a Add A Circuit device and then you have a new circuit to use to add on what ever you like (i.e gps, radar,).
