Ask sensible money and you might have a chance. Although it is a tough market, especially in the expected price range. Seems there are a few for sale as well. Sadly there is a fair amount of choice of other high performance cars in the $$ range people are asking for these things. And they are now getting a bit long in the tooth. But as Fred suggested the more enthusiast outlets may be the go. Possibly unique cars is another option. Really just need that one Subaru enthusiast with suitably deep pockets.

Without being too harsh, theres your problem right there. The market has spoken. I am a subaru fan, but in my mind a 22b just isnt worth that kind of coin.

Best of luck with the sale though.

to be honest with you, a 100$+ subaru is a tall ask for anyone so be prepared to wait a long time for that right buyer who is willing to spend that kind of money on such a rare bird. im assuming it has a-class rego because of the wa numberplates? a class rego with 8000kms your sort of looking for a collector anyway who doesn't mind storing the car in a climate controlled garage for years only bringing it out for special occassions. that's cool, but those kind of people already have their own 22b.

im the president of the more money than brains club but i admit a 100+k 22b puts me off especially when more and more 22b's start to surface straight out of japan, i have my eye on number #288 for just 2.3million yen with only 20.000kms on it so with the right contacts, even vectoring in a version 5 donor you could do an a-class 22b for around 60 grand.

saying that, if you advertised it for say the above money, im sure you wouldn't have a problem selling it

so then whats a realistic price? i paid well over 100k for the car and its just done nothing 9000kms.where do you find another one like it i know for a fact there is nothing out there as good!! Ok other ones are out there for 80k plus but they aint as good!!!! Its insured for $120,000 so mabye i would be better off driving it into a tree! I really need to move it on and im prepared to negotiate but im just not going to give it away its too good

Given your views above, in this market I would say you are stuck with it. It seems you have canvassed it well enough for anyone seriously in the market for one to know about it. 40k over the price of others in the market that arent selling at 80k is a BIG premium to ask for a nice example.

Stick it in the shed in a bubble and call is superannuation. Maybe when all the young Colin McCrae fans are cashed up and in their 50's they will be willing to pay XYGT money for it.
