Default MY96 Subaru Impreza GX Hatch - $3,750

Hi everyone,

Up for sale is my MY96 Subaru Impreza GX Hatch.

Reason for sale - Getting a company car.

Specs:

220,000ish km (will confirm exactly if required)
5 speed manual AWD
1.8 litre EFI

GOOD STUFF:

STi gearknob
Alpine CD MP3 deck and Alpine Type S splits
White painted interior plastics (done by the previous shit cvnt owner)
Working A/C
Alarm system
Central locking
Cruise control
Electric windows
16" Subaru Impreza RS Alloy wheels
Cat back exhaust
Genuine roof racks
Genuine tow pack
Floor mats
New Battery

I did the genuine timing belt, ALL idler pulleys, thermostat and oil change when I bought the car back in 2009, because the timing belt and service history was unknown. At the same time I changed the cam seals and water pump just because I had the covers off.

It is reliable as fuck, doesnt overheat, etc.. has served me very well, easy to park, doesn't use too much fuel if you don't thrash it, etc etc.

Problems: Nothing MAJOR, but I'll tell you anyway because I'm a considerate cvnt.

- It's a 15 year old, well used daily driven Subaru.. you're gonna get some wear and tear on the body.. its got some dings and marks on the paint, and a small patch of paint has come off on the C pillar.. I fixed this with a spray pak. Another tiny patch has come off on the rear quarter, has been touched up somewhat. NO RUST.

- Interior light doesn't work and the urethane cover on the steering wheel has come loose on the top (i.e. you can "twist" it in your hand when you're holding the steering wheel). Interior is a little grubby as I bought it off a surfer, but you can steam clean this.. I just can't be fucked and haven't gotten around to it.

- Centre console pocket not installed, its sitting on a shelf in the garage so I'll include it with the car.

- Fuel flap spring has broken off the latch, I'll include this should you wish to repair it, or you can buy a new spring latch.. I just jam an Eclipse mint tin under the fuel flap handle, works a charm Will throw in Eclipse mint tin, full of mints or empty (buyers choice)

- Minor oil leak, coming from oil pump seal. This oil seal can be provided with the vehicle. If you're handy and have a spare 4 hours to take off the timing covers and other bits, you can change it yourself. If not, just degrease the crossmember and keep driving the cvnt.. it doesn't drop enough oil to cause a concern.

- Tyres are somewhat shagged.. just keep rotating them and flipping the tyres to use up ALL of the tread, should be good to go for a while I think I have a set of stock steelies and hubcaps somewhere, I'll throw these in too.. the tyres are better if I recall.

- Pings every now and then on 91 RON, especially when its really hot outside... probably due to a bit of blow by, which is a factory option for all EJ18s. Will include catch can should you want to install it (this should alleviate the blow by issue). Or just run it on 95+ like I did... makes more power too

- Could do with a nice detail.. its a bit grubby. I'll clean it and polish it prior to sale, but if you want it looking extra spic n span, speak to Adz.

- Every now and then on cold mornings, it seems to run on 3 cylinders at lower RPM when loaded up in higher gears.. goes away after a few seconds though, or if using a lower gear, and doesn't cause any issues when the car is warmed up. I suspect it may need plugs and/or leads at some point.

So..

These things normally go for absolute crack money, not sure why, but I've priced it a little nicer.. will make a perfect daily, doesn't need TOO much spent on it to get it perfect, and if you want to use it for a conversion, thats even better.

$3,750

Will be available for the buyer next week.

Excuse the shit photos, they were taken in direct sunlight on my phone with a dusty camera lens. If you want to see the car up close and personal, come and have a look either at my work or my home, NOR just out of the CBD.

I think I have 1/4 of a container of bodykits.. keen4swap?

On a side note "I'll clean it and polish it prior to sale" - I nearly fell off my chair.
