If it's got lino in the kitchen rip a bit up and see if it's been lined with newspaper, I got a stack from 1911, really interesting reading, got another pile from late 50's, amazing how expensive electrical stuff was then, easy weeks wage for a portable transistor lol.

There is rotted fibreboard under the lino.

We got all the old newspapers from the 1920s when my grandparents ripped their lino up about 20 years ago, used to cut them up and use them in my school projects.. we've still got quite a few left over.

I can't wait to see whats under the floorboards.. I know its just dirt, but some of that dirt hasn't seen light for 100 years, so even if its some rubbish or artefact that the original builder left behind, its going to be very different to what I'm used to seeing!
ImPreSiV and rjb like this.

Based on the rebuild next door to my place - keep an eye out during the site works. We collected a good collection of old bottles. The house was originally 1890 odd build.
