This is still available. Was purchased from someone who did a 6 speed convo.

Was then going to put into a my01 but never got around to it.

Box has around 100km on it.

Note; not a direct fit into any WRX prior to 06.

Would require an earlier WRX be changed to push clutch. ie; flywheel, clutch, fork, slave cylinder and hydraulic hose as a minimum. WRX's prior to 04 will also require inner front CV joint change. Models prior to 2002 will require rear diff change.

So, good cheap insurance or a my06 / 07 owner.

True, at that price you'll never get another one when you need one.

Or, they do appear to be more durable than the early boxes so it may be worth the conversion if those parts I mentioned can be sourced inexpensively.
