yeah some of the fitting kits come with a skinny...

yeah some of the fitting kits come with a skinny rectangular shaped sock, others have a square sock that is angled better to sit on the bottom of the tank, this is the one you wont have surge...

could be as simple as incorrect fuel sock used for the install of the walbro pump, alot of the fakers come with socks that sit on the wrong angle & will cause the issue you described
