I don't think an Apprentice would have driven your car anyway, hence why there were 2 people in it. A qualified tech or foreman would be in the drivers seat and an apprentice as a passenger....

The key reader is part of the OEM immobiliser and cannot be removed (it's part of the ecu). The Brant interface is usually the problem not the OEM system....... Your key can loose it's code too but...

IF it's the exciter there shouldn't be any recoding required, it just depends on whether or not the code sequence is held in the exciter module...
