Removing and reinstalling a chip
hey guys,
i just purchased an ECU from NZ, the same as the faulty one I currently have. Its chipped for the Supercharger, so i want to install it into the new ECU. What companies here in Perth are capable of doing this for me? unsolder and resolder type of job... Thanks Mike |

any auto electrican should be able to do it. give one a call.
or you could do it yourself...... do you have a soldering iron?? you can buy one from dick smith for $25, and solder wick (i think thats what its called. its basically braided wire, and it absorbs the melted solder, costs like $3). you should also install a base for the chip, that was you can swap the new chip with the old one if you need to take the car over the pits etc..it just depends how confident you are. Mike u should try a tech computer shop like The Mod Shop.
They do that all day long for X box etc. Worth a shot. |

i got the new ECU - i'll go to a mod chip place next week sometime. I'd rather not try it myself as its irreplaceable - if I fry it i'd be pissed.
Yeah, its a chip for a Honda ECU. |
