Water filter that fits to existing tap
Hi
Could you please tell me if you have a water filter that can be installed between the cold water outlet and the existing tap? A lot of what I have seen require a seperate nozzle/outlet on the benchtop and I wish to avoid that. We have a flick mixer if that makes a difference too. We recently moved to Dianella and the quality (taste) of the water compares poorly with the other suburbs we have lived in. My main concern is that my 2 young children drink it and accordingly, I would like the most effective filter possible. Appreciate any advice you could provide. If its easier, you are welcome to call me on 0413 120 048. Thanks Nishan |

Nishan,
We do supply these but they are significantly more expensive than the seperate tap ones due the to higher volumes that it is required to process. I'll have a look this afternoon for you and get back to you. Thanks Brendon

Thanks Brendon
Appreciate any guidance you can provide. Also, please let me know if these are DIY or would it be advisable that I get it professionally installed? Nishan |

The separate units are the absolute best option.
Mainly because, filters have a limit to the capacity of water you can filter before they need replacing.. and if you're washing dishes through a filtered tap, you're using up a hell of a lot of this filtering capacity for no reason at all. It's really simple to buy something like a Brita C150 kit, and just attach the second tap to your sink somewhere. |

You raise a fair point mate. It is something I will certainly consider.
At present, we use the dishwasher a lot but if there is any washing, it is the baby bottles so not a total waste (for now anyway). Appreciate the input. |

Nishan,
I have had a look and a chat to some of the guys here. You really have 3 options: 1) Whole of house system. This is mounted outside (by a plumber) and is large and bulky. It can produce circa 40 litres per minute. Very rough ball park cost is about $400 for the parts filters and housing plus the install and whatever parts he needs. This will work but it is not an ideal solution as you will be replacing filters regularly and it will impede flow. 2) An undersink unit for the flickmixer. Similar to above but smaller filter and will produce circa 20 litres per minute. The cost will be slightly less as the filters are only 10 inch (instead of 20) but the install cost will be both similar to above and also significant. 3) A seperate tap. We sell a lot of the davey microlene ones which come as a complete kit. They are easily installed by yourself with not much more than a drill and a screwdriver. This kit retails for $295 but we can do it for about $220. The filter simply supplies the tap (included in the kit) and the kids can just fill up from there. Brendon

Hi Brendon
Thanks for the detailed update. Instead of the constant e-mails between us, could I get the best contact number for you and I can have a chat to you about the best options? I tried 9256 6503 (from the web) but it rang out. Thanks Nishan |
