Default Wispers on the grape vine about VERSO...

I thought Id put this up in the general section rather than the ECU section as this is more to do with the VERSO company than the tuning side of things.

We all know that VERSO is a good product and I am not going to throw conjecture upon the quality of the product and tuning of people who sell the VERSO product. Most people including myself also believe that VERSO as a product is far superior to ECUtek in the value for money department. This has probably got ECUtek quite nervous.

What I have heard from several reliable sources that the company VERSO is under scrutiny from ECUtek over intellectual property rights. I have heard that legal proceedings may already be under way by ECUtek that is alleging that the VERSO re-flash software may be a full or partial pirate of the ECUtek re-flash software. I have also heard that ECUtek technicians apparently found data inside the memory of a VERSO re-flashed ECU that should only be found in a ECUtek re-flashed ECU.

Please understand that all of the above information is not confirmed at this point and is currently just hear say, but I do trust the people I have heard this information from. I would like if possible for any members of P-WRX affiliated with VERSO to confirm or deny this information. I am sure people who currently have VERSO reflashed ECUs would also like to know where they stand when it comes to product back up in the event of a collapse of the VERSO company.

Interesting slander there.

As stated many times by people who know the people behind Verso, there is nothing stolen from ECUtek. Everything has been done from scratch with a lot of hard work for no reward over a long period of time. There is no legal action from ECUtek, nor can there ever be.

Rather than say "reliable sources" how about naming names? All of these rumors seem to originate from ECUtek workshops who are annoyed they are losing money to a better competitor.

To make something usefull of this thread, can you hook another stock ecu to a MY00 STI so it can be tuned by verso? say from a my01 or my94-98?

no reason why not, just need to hook up a duty cycle idle solinoid and you could use an MY01 ecu.
