So is there an advantage to one of these as opposed to a genuine Sti 3 port?

I had my 2002 STI worked on at ASG, and they changed the solenoid amongst some other bits and pieces. From what I could tell they aren't gonna make me or anyone else piss money up a wall just for the hell of it. This is only an assumption but I would suggest that a different MAC solenoid would probably have a larger range of control, whereas the stocker would be fine for factory boost. Again just my thoughts

Hahaha yeah, while we're at it, lets take the airbags out so we can endanger ourselves as well as the engine.

As for the part numbers,

DDVA and DDBA would sound very similar over a dodgy mobile phone connection, my apologies.

The Mac 3 solonoid is used as they reliably hold over 1.2 bar , where as the factory solonoid wont , in regard to fittings mine has two 90 degree fittings and one straight

Thanks for the info, my car is (and will probably stay) a basically standard V3 JDM (apart from when the 2.5 goes in ) and in the past I tried aftermarket bits like BOVs etc and really couldn't justify the purchases 'cos they didn't really do anything much better than the OEM stuff.

In fact some were worse, about the only things that I've kept was a CAI and 3" TBE.

As for air bags, what are they?? For that matter whats ABS??
