Wtb: R160 Or R180
Hi guys,
I'm looking for the equal-length halfshaft R160 diff, I'm aware they came in RS Liberties? Or an R180 LSD!! Anyone got one lying around? 0423 074 584 Last edited by FLYN16; 15-01-2008 at 04:51 PM. |

Can you be a little more specific? I have numerous diffs, some RS Liberty. What ratio are you chasing? what type of LSD? What's it going in? what driveshafts do you intend on using? what tailshaft bolt pattern? (There are 3 different ones)

3.9 ratio would be ideal, but anything is better than a blown diff..
It's going in a Datsun 1600, depending on what diff, stock shafts or modified or completely custom. I think with the liberty R160 I just have to get rid of the tin dust cover thing.. and stock 1600 shafts will work? VLSD or clutch type, doesn't bother me, preferably clutch though. As for the tailshaft part, it's got 4 holes? the subie diffs are used by datto boys, so I'd assume they fit.. |

An open centre Liberty diff would be the only late Subaru diff that will suit the Datsun without engineering. It will require the Datsun diff pinion flange swapped over. You achieve nothing more than a newer version of a 180b diff though. An RX Turbo is the only Subaru that has a LSD and Bolt in stub shafts, they're clutch plate LSD and can be shimmed up very tight if you want to drift. They are highly sought after by offroaders as well and I've seen them sell for up to $700. All newer Subaru LSD (Clutch, Viscous and Suretrac) all have clip in shafts (even the equal length ones) and will require modification to work. Easier option.......got a welder??
