maybe clear it up because thats the changeover period. my 97 has a bov that attaches to two hoses whereas a 1998-00 one bolts onto the intercooler.

Actually 97/98 is same same, and attaches with the hoses. 99/00 bolts to intercooler.

Ah ok my bad I just assumed 98 with all the other changes
