Check the VIN. It does not match. Actually come to think of it, I cant recall if there was VIN plates on it.
The plates that were on it are still on his wagon that he is building with the running gear from that car. I think he said he put the plates and sticker on it so it didn't look like he had a unlicensed car sitting outside his house.

Only reason I know this info is I also saw the car advertised and asked Kris if it was rego'd. When he said no I asked about the plates and he told me. Was very upfront about it, had nothing to hide. If it was able to rego I would have bought it myself. Instead I got a bunky LX to drive to work while I respray my car. I actually have the backseat and carpet out of the black STI in my bunky.

All of what Corrie said is why I mentioned it before.

When you hear "Jap Spec shell to be Road Registered" it usually
sets alarm bells ringing.

Hope you can find another Road Legal shell that won't cost you
too much!

So why did he not tell me about these things? Only other option is to cut parts off this shell I need and keep mine rego'd which can still be done... Long way round but shit happens... Strip down begins..

Did you ask him? Didn't you question why he was wrecking a perfectly fine V3 STI?
Can your shell actually be repaired? Didn't you say it was hit that hard it kinked the roof?

If the car suffers a damaged firewall, it 'can' be done and legitimately too.

As with anything done properly, it costs time and money.
