Someone please correct me if I'm wrong but I was under the impression that GC8 did not have an actuator in the driver's door. Only a switch, with the other 3 doors having actuators. Unless your car has had keyless entry retrofitted in which case the actuator will be a universal one self tappered onto the face of the door and joined to the lock rod. They're available new from car security shops cheap as.

Doug, there were a few GC8's that came with solenoid/actuator in the drivers door. But, as you stated, most only have a position switch.

What is the problem with your door sic-em-wrx?

2000's with infrared central locking had the drivers side actuator, but as already mentioned, it would be heaps easier to retrofit the aftermarket actuator, the factory location is a nightmare to get into if the door is still on the car.

or i hope you have small hands.
