Default WTB: AFTER MARKET BOV for MY01 WRX

Hey guys

Im looking for an aftermarket BOV for a MY01 WRX, preferably direct bolt onto the standard top mount intercooler.

I have the original stock BOV that I am willing to swap plus cash either way if anyone is wanting to return their car to stock...police problems, all good

No particular brand/type in mind as long as it is in good condition, works properly and sounds good :P

Let me know what you have, and we can sort it via PM

Cheers

Brett

Have an HKS SSQV with relevant adaptor, looking for factory BOV so this suits me.

PM what cash difference you think is a fair deal.

What other mods have you done that now means you can run more boost than the stock valve can handle?
Or are you just after shitty fuel economy and attention from the cops?

@MATTYMY99 I havn't done much in the way of major mods, only a TBE and Cold Air, is it worth getting a boost controller? And im not after police attention, I havn't had one problem with the cops yet, I am simply after something that sounds better than the stock one. Cheers

What Matt is getting at is:

Do you have a tune?
Atmospheric BOV will make your fuel economy go up the shitter.
Atmospheric BOV will attract police attention and get you a yellow sticker.
Stock BOV can handle more boost than you will every need, making an aftermarket BOV not needed performance wise.
You do not need a boost controller unless you want a new engine.
You do need a tune if you are doing all these mods.

Thanks for clearing that up kato,

I am unsure if the car was tuned before I got it, and have since lost the e-mail address of the guy I bought it off, I would say that It hasn't been tuned, but is in desperate need of one, I was planning on getting an aftermarket BOV and a Varex Cannon (the remote controlled sleeper one) and then getting the car tuned...is that the right way to go about it? Or should I get it tuned before adding the exhaust and BOV

Thanks for the advice.

Cheers

I wouldn't add the BOV ever. Have a read of how many threads there are for people searching to return their 'whoosh' BOV back to stock.

Exhaust should be fine imo. Tune will get the car more agressive and create more induction noise too.

Is is THAT bad to do hahhaha, i have seen the threads and how detrimental it is to fuel economy...I'm in the "boy racer phase atm" HAHAH :P but it needs a tune, which requires money, I should have it done in the nxt month, Cheers for the advice
