If you just want cheap rubber there's a tyre shop in O'conner which sells Accelera Alpha tyres suitable for WRX 16" wheels. I bought some for skidpan/speed dome use and they were $120 a wheel fitted.

Tech 9 tyres I think it was.

Toyo TEO are decent wet/dry rubber on a budget, $150 each fitted from Tyrepower of all places haha

Accelera Alpha are only good for the skidpan IMO, for daily driving I had big problems with understeer at 20kph in the wet which was disgraceful even for budget rubber. About as much traction as a half sucked M&M on wet jelly.

I haven't used the Accelera in the wet, but I have my regular rims with near-new Maxxis MA-Z1 tyres to go back on at the end of summer. I just couldn't be bothered swapping them off after the skidpan last Sept, then back on again for Midvale.

I'll make sure I change them over before the rain hits - thanks for the heads up.
