I think exposure to a bit of everything is healthy, I am clearly aware of what you are saying but technology is very much a part of today's generation compared to when I was growing up

PS I don't intend on her spending 24/7 on it either but used as a tool when out and about is priceless

id do it mandeeeeee, but limit how much she can use it. mine is a fein for mum's iPad.

It's ok guys, I am a Primary/Early Childhood trained teacher and know all about childhood development, in fact ipad's etc play a huge role in classrooms today, I had them given to me by CEO and integrated into my curriculum within my classroom just before I went on maternity leave

I do love the fact that you guys are into this though, 'most modern/young parents' don't use these forms of technology appropriately with their children so am quite impressed on your views

Heh, I'd be getting my kids to be fully immersed in technology.

Saying 'no don't let them use technology' is crap, imo it is like saying better not drive a car the old horse and carriage worked in my day!

Used appropriately they are fantastic learning tools which can do more than books.

My 5 year old has been doing reading exercises on her own little lap top for nearly 2 years. I wouldn't take it away from her for quids, she loves it too.

I have a mate that was selling a wifi only ipad a few weeks ago, i'll see if he still has it.
