Siberian Huskies - Breeders
I'd always suggest getting a "breed" of dog from a professional breeder. It's a two fold benefit. You should get a well bred healthy animal and the breeder should ensure that you understand what is involved with the animal your getting. Puppies are cute for a year or so - dogs are a long term commitment like children.

I have a Samoyed, similar to a Husky/Malamute but pure white. They are all fantastic dogs but its not a commitment you take lightly. They require a lot of your time, not the type of dog you can just leave outside to its own devices. They are pack dogs and need to feel that they are a part of one (spending lots of time with the family) also being sled dogs require a lot of exercise. Do some research, talk to and visit breeders before you go and buy one and then realise it is too much for you to handle.

By no means are any of us trying to put you off, Owning one is hard work but very rewarding, just need to be in a position to put in the hard yards. |
