im looking to buy a hopefully low km ej20 engine as mine has just done a big end bearing
ive owned the car for a month and a half and has always had te knocking just went away after the cold start and then one day wouldnt go away and just got louder

so hoping to find a replacement pretty soon

Yeah, that is the gamble with engines, not knowing the KMs sucks too.

But at least your talking to the right people. Doug/STechnic are a good mob.

A mate of mine bought an engine off this forum about 2 weeks ago,he just realised that it wont fit his car (MY99 engine into MY97 car)
So he's selling it on.
He wants what he paid for it $1000
AFAIK its been rebuilt

just wondering if you know how many kms on it and is it a ej20?

kms arnt the be all and end all - I can kill a brand new motor in 2km if you want.

1000 bucks sounds fair for the above one if rebuilt - do a leak down and compression test.

Second hand engines are a gamble no matter what

yeah true mate
im pretty pissed cause my engine that went had only 95000 on it
i bought at an auction so couldnt really hear it when it started
had a feeling it was gonna go soon aye

probably a good reason why it was at auction and not a private sale.
