What engine?
Have you got a pic/numbers of the ECU that you need?

It's from a JDM 2.0L EJ20 from a '98 front cut.

Unfortunately there is no reading the serial number.
It was stored directly under a leak in my shed roof:
Kato and GTB Liberty like this.

Bollocks!

What are the pinouts for something like a Link 44S compared to a standard normally aspirated Legacy? Seems like a cheap programmable ECU might be my best bet.

The plug socket on that old ECU is quite unique. Never fitted to any turbo engines. Someone will have one and it won't cost much when you find it, keep searching. Give as much info as you can about the halfcut. ie; model, spec level, codes, trans type etc.
(even sedans and wagons have differnt ECU's)

I believe it was a manual wagon, non cruise control.
Will get the engine number, it may help.
