I'll break it down for you so things might seem more reasonable,

New antenna point, assuming its on a cavity wall and single story house, $70 bucks.
Fix your fault which bare in mind could be one or all of the below. $160 to replace antenna,
$100 on top of that if you need a masthead amplifier, a further $70 to replace the cable run if it needs it, and finally $15 to replace the wall plate should that be faulty.

How quickly do you need it done? A mate does it for a living but work bush during the week. Lives in Kewdale on weekends though so would probably be keen.

We are now on our third one (mind you we've been in the same house for 17 years).

These things are crap & are easily damaged giving poor reception/interference, but they are also easily replaced. I'd always try swapping the wall plate & fly lead to the TV out first myself.
