Default Sti complete heads or long motor v4 or earlier.

Hi PPl ,
I'm biting the bullet and building a second motor I'm after either a v4 or earlier sti long motor or just the heads. Managed to convince the minister of finance that a spare better built motor is a great idea if I'm going to start some track work , hill climbs etc.

cheers

Are you aware that the inlet manifold from pre 99 will not bolt to those heads?
Using the 99 onwards style inlet manifold on RS Liberty opens a can of worms regarding TPS, acellerator cable placement, fuel rails, injector location and size, and numerous other things that clash.
My advice would be unless you plan on doing some very time consuming work and are running a fully programmable ECU that can be reconfigured then stick to version 4 or prior heads.

Cheers for that version 4 or prior it shall be.

Have kind of talked the wife into letting me build a separate motor. So the other one shall go back in with a freshen up , new timing belt, oil pump, water pump . Short block was redone 15000km ago So now I guess I can concentrate on building a separate engine. As Im looking at starting track work , hillclimbs, rallysprint etc managed to convince her that building a spare motor is a great idea
