Default WTB: 5 Speed Gear Knob and Boot for WRX

Hi Guys n Gals...

Wanting a good condition 5 speed gear knob with boot to fit a 99 WRX. Mine looks like crap and needs to be replaced.

While I'm at it, can someone post up a pic of the 5 speed gearknobs of models later than the 99-00? Reason being, I'm not a big fan of the original that came with the 99-00, coz it wears out, and I have no reason to think that a later model wouldn't fit and not really looking at aftermarket unless it's a straight bolt-in; and wondered if Subaru had improved on the original in later models due to the fact that the imprint of the gear numbers was in the original leather in single piece, rather than, say an embodied plate, not made of leather, within the knob surround, that shows the gear numbers/positions. Dunno how else to explain it, but I think you will get the idea.

Cheerz all...

Wayne

Hey there Goosey... nice. Just what I was hoping for.

Does it have the gear boot? Or will I need to fit my old boot to the bottom of the gear knob? I'm up to the task, having been a former motor trimmer, but didn't want the hassle of doing so, if I could avoid it. Just too busy with other crap these days.

In any event, how much $, incl postage to send to 6230?

Regards, Wayne

If you cant find one with a boot clip, i bought one of these to go with mine. I also pulled the boot up higher than the flogged out part and used a cable tie inside to hold.

Hi there Alternate...

Thanks for the heads-up... I'll see what Goosey's come-back info is when he gets back to me, and if need be, I'll check out your link if I need to do some adaptation.

regards, Wayne.

Sorry, no boot. Just the knob on it's own. You could probably get a replacement boot for dirt cheap at Japline.
