Default 2008 - 14 STi power steering pump.

As above need a pump asap please.

Part no. 34430FG040

If anyone knows whether other year models will fit let me know. Interwebs say 05-07 model is not compatible but maybe someone has other info.

Cheers

Yeah I've been looking at those kits Neil. You reckon it could be that simple, just replace a couple of O-rings and seals and away we go?

So far I have replaced the o-ring in the return line, and clamped the return line hose to the pump properly as the oem ones were a bit weak.

The system has no leaks whatsoever, no foaming of the fluid in the reservoir. I have had it looked at by a mechanic and he is confident it's pump.

When it's cold it whines a bit and has a bit of a shudder here and there but seems to improve after 10 minutes or so of driving.

Cheers

Yes there easy to do

Also replace the fluid. I do this by adding new fluid and then removing further with a vacuum pump. Then add new fluid repeating the process

Use synthetic fluid as well

Hey Neil any chance you can point me in the direction of the o-ring kit please?

Subaru don't sell a kit for my model of pump. I've looked around on the web and I can't find a vehicle specific kit for mine.

Cheers

Nick most of the kits are on eBay

The one that causes the oil wine is this one

34439FG000

I have a new pump, need to find it

But just get the kit or strip the pump and measure the o rings and purchase the sizes. Get Viton in dura 70

I've already replaced that o-ring it didn't make any difference. I'm taking it to a power steering shop tomorrow for another opinion. Second hand pumps for my model are faaarkin expensive. A-parts want $330 for a pump with 84k on it.

Cheers
