I remember when they used to run down Riverside Drive when the superspecial was at Langley...then they moved it to Gloucester. Bastards!!

So many great names and cars. Rally Australia was the highlight of my year every year for 16 years and the teams and drivers were so accessible. I got to meet all my heros face to face at one point or another. I still have a windscreen from Carlos's focus in my shed.
I cant believe what the WRC has become now, such a shadow of its former self.....
You forgot "Gronholm" have not watched for a while but when he returned for that one event I thought at last a real character has returned. Wasnt scared to call the cars he drove $hit if they were dogs and when his co driver got hit up the arse that was "Gold" Gronholm style humour. still make's me laugh!

I only got a chance to see the Langley Park super special in 1996... or was it 1997 can't remember. What I do remember is one of the Hyundai Coupe's lost a wheel and shot a huge shower of sparks as it tore down Riverside Dve at full pace.

That was cool. But yeah, the championship is pretty boring at the moment with so few manufacturers on board.

Seeing Brett Middleton centre punch a tree turning off Riverside drive was interesting. Then later redfaced, on the phone trying to explain to Daihatsu why he was out on the first stage of the rally.
