Maybe PM American Dave, I'm not 100% sure but I suspect he has had some guard pulling done on his Foz to get those 19" rims underneath the guards and maintain a lowered stance.

Haha.. The 19"s went on easy! He was going to get spacers for them after we put them on as they were too sunk into the guards!

You will not be able to use the guard roller once you cut the lip off. I rolled my guards with a rubber hammer and & heat gun, no drams. Just take your time and do it slow and steady. Around 30 min to do one corner. Just make sure you get enough heat into the paint, but not too much.

Better yet pay a professional to do it.

I did the heat gun with mallet technique which worked
but to really get into it I have to grind some more metal off

Id be getting the guard pulled before I went at it with an angle grinder personally, especially if you've already flattened the lip.....

As above

I am no tyre fitter, or panel beater Mod, but I would not be attacking a 30 grand car with an angle grinder, just to get a set of wheels to fit. Is the lip in the guard flat with the inside of the fender? Or is it still on a angle?

yeah wouldn't hack it with grinder just shave few mm off to suit
and with guard roller it will most likely crack the paint no matter how much heat you put in it
