05 sti would be a better bang for buck option HOWEVER a jdm gdb sti driveline (meaning complete engine/gearbox/diffs/shafts and necessary loom) would be the ticket, oem reliability, you'll squeeze 350hp without raising a sweat and the gc8's lightweight chassis, only way to do it i believe.

talk to JWS, or Shabir from autoevolution. they have/had a complete gdb sti running gear, and they have done quite a few conversions (ie gx to sti), for more info give hybridgx a pm (forester X to forester STI conversion by autoevolution)
