Default 03 dak dak wagon

been lurking around here for a few weeks since i bought my dak dak, and thought it was about time i chucked up a thread on here about it

its a black 2003 wrx wagon
pretty much stock

bov
cannon exhaust with a stock catback
lowered on springs, no idea what they are though

I've done one skidpan day in it, and one tuning day at barbagallo with afarcc (if anybody has pics of the day could you fwd them to me?) , and found that both the brakes and tyres are shit

so looking for some info/opinions on brake and tyre combo's, stuff i cant find through searching

looking for a set of rims for the track, something that'll be cheap to buy rcomps for, will 16in rims off a 2000 model wrx fit over my brakes?

and brakes.. looking at just pads and then rotors when i need a set for the fronts, rears dont seem to be wearing much, im looking at the following but havent heard any actual reports on whats good/not

Ferodo DS2500 (are ds3000 too much for street use?)
QFM A1RM
Bendix Ultimates?
EBC reds/greens? whats the different between them?

and for rotors, i've heard DBA is the hotness? just a basic slotted or drilled rotor the way to go these days?

Cheers guys,
Tom

Just paint up your current rims for street, then look at getting urself some 03 or 04 STI rims for track. Have half an inch in width over your current ones, and probably the easiest / cheapest option. You can do what Russ did and paint them lime green or something unusual if they are track rims

Keep an eye out for some second hand brembos off of the sti. You will need bigger rims to run them though.

cheers guys,

looking at getting some qfm ar1 pads soonish

thought i'd share a story from the weekend with you all though

blew a radiator hose or clamp on saturday morning, dumped all the coolant onto the road (luckily i was just about to park when it happened), all good as i bought the car from the ahg group 3 weeks ago and bought the expensive 3yr premium warranty from them. Got it towed to a holding yard for the weekend then onto the dealership that i bought it from (lynford) this morning. Had to call them several times to find out about the car after the roadside assits guys said they'd call me first thing monday morning. First time i called they were working on it, said they'd call me back, never did. Called again at 4.30 and they said it was fixed, but my warranty didnt cover a leaky/blown radiator hose and it'd be $180 for it, even though the warranty does cover it. They know i have both the statutory used car warranty and the premium warranty they sold me but are trying to charge me for it anyway.

Am i being a dick expecting them to do it? or is it fair enough as i bought the car 3 weeks ago.

it should still be covered under the 3 month statutory warranty
