The key pad is probably no differant from your, however I see no need to remove it from the car. The alarm has it's own immobiler so to steal the car they will need to bypass 2 autowatch immobiliseds and need the microchip in the key. Even if they steal the keys they will need the code.

That's what I was getting at ;)

I have those buttons on my key chain keypad but each button has a function and doesn't act independently for entering in a code.

Hence my asking if you've reverse engineered the keypad to have a code function ;)

It not reveresed engineered... Its just an autowatch function on their alarms.

I've got a feeling my wife's MY99 hatch has this problem. When I sit there with the engine idling I can hear a noise from around the steering column/pedals - a bit like wind whistling through a pipe, or rushing water. It's not audible from under the bonnet or anywhere else, just from the drivers seat and it's much louder when I put my head near the steering wheel.

If you find anything on this let me know. Maybe they replaced the steering rack or something, and didn't put the grommet back properly? I haven't had a look yet because it's too dark, but will try and remember to have a peek tomorrow.
