Soo I've run into a small problem. I need to replace the bearings in the 6mt, but Subaru op won't even give me a price without a vin number. Anyone with a my05 sti want to lend me their vin?

Whats wrong with the bearings? How do you know thats the issue?

It whines extremely loud on deceleration and you can even hear it whining when in neutral. I'm not 100% sure it's the bearings but I'm hoping it is. I won't know for sure until I pull the box out I suppose.

Is the whining mainly in 3rd or all gears? It is a known thing with the 6 speeds to whine, its just how they are. Mine does it.

It's in all gears, sounds like a straight cut box so something is definitely wrong

Yep 05 Sti 65:35.

Stock transmission mount? I know my box now makes all kinds of strange noised after I upgraded my transmission mount.

I can get you my VIN number if you still need one, but I don't have DCCD, so not sure on how much use it would be to you?
