Mitchwnz's MY11 STI

Hey everybody.

Most of you on here already know me for owning the ugliest car on Perth-WRX (the old MY08 Betty Hatch).

After putting up with people hassling me for just over a year, I decided I couldn't take it any more and got another one, only slightly better looking.

I picked up my MY11 STI last Monday and have loved every minute driving this new car.

Planned Mods: Front Lip, Re-Tune (eventually) and that's about it!

Only gripe I had was the TERRIBLE fuel economy.. first tank I got 330km the second not so bad 450km but driving like a nana. But really I can't complain and if I wanted something economic I would've got a Prius. LOL

Tune and prosper that is all Mutch..oh and drop it likes hawt. Like

edit: those tail lights would be piss easy to do a 50% smoked tint on imo :D

Soksta 24-10-2011 02:41 PM

Looks good Mitch.

I forgot to mention was keen on replacing with the Red Tail Lights (Like in my Avatar).

Should I just do springs?? Obviously not keen on Coilovers as I don't want to mess with the S-Drive etc.

American Dave 24-10-2011 02:44 PM

Swift Sports Springs from Entra who are the agents. A very good progressive spring.

I put them on my old lib w/ bils and the improvement was immense over the pinks.

GTB Liberty 24-10-2011 02:52 PM

S-Drive simply changes the way the drive by wire throttle response.

I Mode is max 30% throttle, Sport is the most linear and S-Sharp make the throttle only need 30% throttle angle for 100% throttle input (or so I am led to believe).

Do you like the smoked ones at all ?

These look pretty cool for a white car ?

GTB Liberty 24-10-2011 04:36 PM
Do you like the smoked ones at all ?
I'd suggest that dark would be a popo attraction device.

BREW 24-10-2011 05:40 PM
tune and enjoy :D
does a tune improve the fuel economy from the standard factory tune? Nice car btw.

GTB Liberty 24-10-2011 08:04 PM

Assuming all things being equal - yes.

Greater use of WOT often leads to better fuel economy to go right out the window.

andz 24-10-2011 08:11 PM

Wot?

Soksta 24-10-2011 08:12 PM
Wot?
Wide Open Throttle

WOT - Wide Open Throttle - The Only Way To Drive An STi :-D

American Dave 24-10-2011 09:08 PM

Subaru stock tunes are generally a rich on fuel and all over the shop...a good tune will improve the air fuel ration among other things

mitchwnz 25-10-2011 02:28 PM

Let's hope that's the case. Have started saving for a tune (as well as an engagement ring).. still going with the EcuTek as I liked the results on my old betty.

Lol at the WOT.. that's how I drive ALL the time.. have really tried to change my old habits though with the new car.

Congrats on the new car and possible engagement.

Hang in there long enough and you could get the inlaws Jag :D
