Default Boring ol' stock WRX

I've gotten pics of my car (courtesy of PoktRokt!). It's strictly bog standard 03 WRX at the moment as I've spent quite abit doing the 100k km service and other miscellaneous things to the car to bring it up to 100%.

Things that are slated for the car (in those particular order) are:
  1. Remove that awful tow bar
  2. Get new tyres (Planning on some RE002's)
  3. At least two skid pan days
  4. Front and rear sway bars
  5. Maybe a Verso tune (no plans on getting a TBE)
  6. Swap battery out for a Deka battery if I'm feeling rich
  7. More skid pan days
  8. ???
  9. Profit!
I don't plan on getting any cosmetic gear for the car as well as any other suspension based mods as it's my daily ride. The inner boy in me wants to get a 2.5" TBE and a 05 STi TMIC but the car is fast enough as it is, don't really need the power. If I score some major dough, I'll probably get it to a panel beater to sort some dents and resprayed to WRC Blue

I tried removing the tow bar on my own today, but even if my life depended on removing the bolts, I couldn't get any to budge. Any ideas?

I think you need air tools to remove the tow bar....at least that was the case on my old car...

Also for value for money, you should really get supporting mods when doing the verso to really unlock the power....and why wouldn't you want a TBE?! Wrx = boxer sound amrite?

And for the daily ride comment, i drive mine daily for work and im running with coilovers and exhaust, it's actually not that bad People at work laugh at me when i have trouble getting into the work carpark but they can eat shit.

If you are happy with the power as it is, don't bother tuning or putting exhausts on. If you do want a quiet exhaust, go for a Jasma approved Japanese brand for a quality system.

I'd personally go a set of lowering springs (25mm max, the 'super low' 50mm will destroy your struts) and a cusco front and rear sway bar (or whiteline).

Add the sti side splitters and fog light covers to transform the front end looks.

Leave the tow bar for added stealth.

Good to see you have some pics up finally!!!

I agree with the Towbar but if your not overly worried about the cosmetics why bother?? start with removing the damn rego sticker LOL

If your happy with the current power then dont bother with that aspect, wait til you get bored etc and then dump money into increasing power!

Dont re-paint!! cost too much money for what its worth! may aswell buy a WRC coloured car for your next one

Mine is also my daily! you will find a ot of people do use them as daily's, yeah they chew fuel but not like its a big V8 or anything

Yes new tyres, yes skid pan and yes sway bars same as whats on my list next haha

If you don't want the power but want the sound, remove the stock muffler. Sounds beast.

Keep the tow bar.

Add roof racks.

Well, I'm not very interested in the sound honestly. So that's why if I do decide on getting a TBE, it'll be a JASMA approved one, like the HKS Legamax

I've always wondered why do people on here love their fog light covers so much? Personally I don't mind the fog lights actually

I reckon the tow bar must weigh in at least at 5 - 10kg's. Removing it purely for the weight differences. Although...as mentioned by Mister Two, I should get a roof rack for grandpa spec as I do drive like one lol
